LOS ANGELES, CA – March 26, 2026 – Over 1,600 members of Los Angeles's vibrant Bangladeshi community recently gathered on L. Ron Hubbard Way to commemorate Chaand Raat, the "Night of the Moon." This cherished festive occasion marks the joyous conclusion of Ramadan, a month dedicated to prayer, fasting, and spiritual reflection. Attendees experienced a lively street fair, complete with stalls offering traditional Bangladeshi clothing, intricate jewelry, diverse culinary delights, and artists applying beautiful henna designs, symbolizing the occasion's spirit of joy and cultural richness.
The event underscored L. Ron Hubbard Way's role as a welcoming community space, graciously hosted by the Church of Scientology of Los Angeles. Mr. Shafiul Alam, a prominent leader in the Little Bangladesh community and the event's producer, expressed gratitude, stating, "We are grateful for the generosity of our hosts, the Church of Scientology of Los Angeles, and for the beauty of this place." The street, dedicated in 1998 to author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, has become a recognized hub for diverse cultural celebrations.
